Depression Recovery

These days I take an early walk,
depressed upon the shore.
I feed the gulls and hear the waves,
- and wish for something more.

And there, a woman from afar
appeared like a gazelle.
Alone, she turned in her ballet
- and cast a wondrous spell.

I watched her dance a pink sky’ d beach,
her beauty breathing in;
and for a time as in a trance
- I felt her speak within.

She told me that my elegy
would pass from me that dawn
as wind and clouds then moving in
- would pass me and be gone.

and hearing that my spirits soared
as sunrise cleared the dawn;
and so I lost my depressed thoughts
- as just like her they’d gone.
