 Gaia

Who’s this sayer paying penance
while what he’s saying seems insane?
He storms with rage while channeling Gaia
and speaks of vengeance unconstrained.

He claims a vision. He saw when
our only planet, only one;
was raped, defiled, and even then
was forced to beg by some whoreson.

He saw a witch who brewed a crock
which filtered truth and simmered lies.
She dished out fables to command
a cauldron’s stink which plucked men’s eyes.

And there a jester jumping pews,
was dressed and talked like fools would
to kings denying what they knew.
For whispered rhyme was all they could
save of themselves and nations too.
So said the sayer whereon he stood.
